"On Valentine's Day a couple of years ago I was on a flight from NYC to Nashville, and I was feverishly trying to finish this song. Rick Springfield ('Jessie's Girl'1981) was also on the flight and noticed over my shoulder what I was working on. He said, 'Good luck with that!'
"I completed the lyrics and music just before landing and sang it for Connie an hour later."
